Need help with Masareefi? You can reach the developer directly by email — usually a reply within one to two business days.
Please include your iOS version and the app version (Settings tab → About) so the issue can be reproduced.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up my data?
You have two options, and you can use both at the same time:
- iCloud sync — open Masareefi, go to Settings → iCloud, and turn sync on. Your records will be mirrored to your private iCloud container and restored automatically when you sign into the app on another device with the same Apple Account.
- CSV export — go to Settings → Export and choose "Export to CSV". You will get a file you can save to Files, email to yourself, or import into a spreadsheet. This is also the easiest way to keep an offline copy.
How do I report a bug?
Email [email protected] with as much of the following as you can:
- What you were doing when the issue happened
- What you expected vs. what actually happened
- Your iPhone/iPad model and iOS version
- The Masareefi version (Settings → About)
- A screenshot or screen recording, if visual
The more specific the report, the faster the fix.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by the developer. To request one:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
- Find Masareefi in your purchase history.
- Tap "Report a Problem" and choose "Request a refund".
Apple decides the outcome. If you have feedback about why you wanted a refund, an email is always welcome — it directly shapes the next version.
iCloud sync is not working — what should I check?
- You are signed into iCloud on the device (Settings → your name).
- iCloud Drive is on (Settings → your name → iCloud → iCloud Drive).
- iCloud is enabled for Masareefi (Settings → your name → iCloud → "See All" → Masareefi → On).
- You have iCloud storage available — full storage will silently stop sync.
- Both devices are on a recent iOS version and signed into the same Apple Account.
If sync still does not start after that, please email a brief description of what you see and we will investigate.
Where is my data stored?
On your device, in a local SwiftData store. If you turn on iCloud sync, the same data is mirrored to your private iCloud container — only your own Apple devices can read it. The developer never sees your data and operates no backend servers. Full details are in the privacy policy.
How do I delete all my data?
You have a few options depending on how thorough you want to be:
- Delete individual records inside the app — swipe on a transaction, wallet, or budget and tap Delete.
- Reset the app via Settings → Reset (this clears the local database but keeps the app installed).
- Uninstall by long-pressing the app icon and tapping Delete App. If iCloud sync was off, this permanently deletes everything.
- Remove the iCloud copy via iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Masareefi → Delete Data.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. Masareefi is fully usable offline — adding transactions, scanning receipts, viewing reports, and using budgets all work without a network. The only feature that needs internet is fetching fresh currency exchange rates, and even those are cached after the first refresh.
Is my financial data private?
Yes. Masareefi has no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising SDKs, and no developer-run servers. Everything stays on your device or in your own private iCloud container. See the privacy policy for the full breakdown.
