Frequently asked questions

How does Klipp split a long video?

Pick a video, choose a clip length (15, 30, 60, or 90 seconds), and tap Export. Klipp slices the video into back-to-back clips of that length and writes each one to your Photos library as a separate file. A 6-minute video at 30s clips becomes 12 clips.

What do the platform presets do?

Each preset sets the clip duration and aspect ratio that platform accepts:

  • WhatsApp Status — 30s, 9:16
  • TikTok — 60s, 9:16
  • Instagram Reels — 60s, 9:16
  • YouTube Shorts — 60s, 9:16
  • Snapchat — 60s, 9:16
  • Custom — pick your own duration and ratio

You can still apply Trim, Filters, Crop, Rotate, and Watermark on top of any preset.

How big a video can Klipp handle?

Klipp uses iOS streaming APIs, not in-memory loading. On any recent iPhone you can comfortably split videos up to about 2 GB and 2-hour duration. Very large or very high-resolution files will take longer to export — Klipp shows a progress indicator and you can leave the app during export.

Why is the video preview dark or black?

Klipp automatically seeks to the first non-black frame when you open the editor. If your video starts with a long black intro, the preview will skip past it. If it still looks dark, check that the source video isn't muted or rotated incorrectly, then tap Play to scrub through.

Is Klipp free? Are there in-app purchases?

Klipp is completely free at launch. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no watermarks on your exports. Every feature — Trim, Crop, Rotate, Filters, Watermark, Smart Crop, Platform Presets — is available to every user from day one.

Where do exported clips go?

Straight to your Photos library, as standard MP4/MOV files. You will see them appear in the Photos app at the top of your most recent items. From there you can drop them straight into WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, or anywhere else.

Does Klipp work offline?

Yes. Klipp does not require an internet connection. Importing, editing, and exporting all happen entirely on your device. There is no account, no cloud, no sign-in.

Is my video private?

Yes. Klipp does not upload your video anywhere — not to the developer, not to Apple, not to a third party. All processing is local. There is no analytics or tracking. Full details are in the privacy policy.

How do I report a bug?

Email [email protected] with as much of the following as you can:

  • What you were doing when the issue happened
  • What you expected vs. what actually happened
  • Your iPhone model and iOS version
  • The Klipp version (Settings → About)
  • A screenshot or screen recording, if visual

The more specific the report, the faster the fix.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, not by the developer. To request one:

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
  2. Find Klipp in your purchase history.
  3. Tap "Report a Problem" and choose "Request a refund".

Apple decides the outcome. If you have feedback about why you wanted a refund, an email is always welcome — it directly shapes the next version.

How do I delete all my data?
  • Delete exported clips — open the Photos app and delete the clips like any other video.
  • Uninstall Klipp — long-press the app icon and tap "Delete App". This removes the app's local database (projects, settings) permanently.
Is Klipp affiliated with WhatsApp / TikTok / Instagram?

No. Klipp is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC, Meta Platforms Inc., TikTok Ltd., Snap Inc., or Google LLC. Their names are used here only to describe the clip sizes and durations each platform expects.
