Privacy Policy
- We collect no data. Nothing your child does in Hafsa is sent to us or to any third party. If iCloud backup is on, a copy of the progress is kept in your own iCloud account.
- No ads. No third-party analytics. No tracking.
- Works fully offline. No accounts and no servers of ours.
- A parental gate protects purchases, sharing, settings and links.
1. Who we are
Hafsa is made by Hossam Hamouda ("we"). Questions about privacy: [email protected].
2. Information we collect
None. Hafsa has no sign-up, no account, and no server. We do not collect, receive, sell or share any personal information about children or adults.
3. Information stored on your device and in your iCloud
To work, the app saves these on your device:
- child profiles: the first name or nickname you type, avatar, grade, language, digit style and school focus topics;
- learning progress: levels, stars, stickers, badges, streaks, practice results and the outfits Olly wears;
- settings: sound, voice, calm mode, daily time limit, reminder time.
Child profiles and learning progress are saved on your device and, when iCloud backup is on (the default), in your own iCloud account using Apple's key-value storage, so they can be restored on your devices. That copy lives in your own iCloud account, under Apple's control and yours; Hafsa's developer has no access to it. Settings stay on the device only. Turn iCloud backup off in Grown-ups → Settings; when iCloud is available, Hafsa then removes its copy from iCloud. You can delete a profile in the parent area. Deleting the app deletes the data on the device; the iCloud copy stays until you turn iCloud backup off.
4. Children's privacy
Hafsa is made for children and is in the App Store Kids Category. Because we collect no personal information, there is nothing to share, sell or use for advertising. We aim to meet children's privacy laws such as COPPA (USA) and the GDPR (EU/UK) by not collecting data at all.
5. No ads, no analytics, no tracking
The app shows no advertising. It contains no third-party analytics or advertising tools and does not use the advertising identifier. It does not track your child across apps or websites.
6. Purchases
Hafsa Plus is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment. We never see your name, Apple Account, or payment details. Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy. Purchases are behind the parental gate.
7. The parental gate
Before any purchase, share, external link (for example to the App Store) or parent setting, the app asks an adult multiplication question. This keeps children from leaving the app or buying by accident.
8. Sharing certificates, reports and worksheets
A parent can choose to share a certificate, a weekly report image or a worksheet using the iOS share sheet (for example to WhatsApp or a printer). This happens only when the parent decides, after the parental gate. The content goes directly to the app the parent picks and follows that app's privacy policy. We do not receive a copy.
9. Tutor codes
A tutor's assignment code contains only the practice settings (topics, levels and number of questions). It contains no personal information. Results are shared only if a parent chooses to share them.
10. Voice, reminders and reviews
- Voice: Olly speaks using the text-to-speech voices built into iOS.
- Reminders: optional daily reminders are local notifications set up on the device. No push server is used.
- Reviews: the app may show Apple's standard rating prompt to parents. Ratings and reviews are handled by Apple.
11. Crash reports from Apple
If you turned on "Share with App Developers" in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymous crash reports and usage statistics with us. You can turn this off at any time. The app itself sends nothing.
12. This website
This website uses no cookies and no analytics. It is hosted on our own web server. Like any web server, it receives technical data such as your IP address to deliver the page; we do not use this data to identify or track anyone.
13. Your choices and rights
We hold no personal data about you or your child, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. All app data is on your device and, if iCloud backup is on, in your own iCloud account. You are in full control of it.
14. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. If we ever wanted to collect any data, we would update the policy and the App Store privacy label first.
